What is Internet|Purpose

Technical definition: A global network of computers that are linked with each other through a set of standardized communication protocols such as TCP/IP which enables them to send, receive and acquire information.


Simple Definition: One can assume the Internet to be a vast repository of all sorts of information that can be accessed from anywhere. Think of it as a giant book of information where instead of going through the entire index to find your topic you merely put it in the search bar and get the access immediately.


Purpose: The primary goal of the Internet is to enable the communication and sharing of information electronically and make it accessible in any part of the world.
